2048 AADA World Duelling Championship Arenas
The Eye of the Pyramid
2048 AADA World Championship
Arena as built is in the foreground of
this photo.

The Eye of the Pyramid is located in Austin, Texas, near a location once used as a meeting place by the Secret Masters, according to local legend.

The second level is 15' high, allowing some shots against the top armor of targets on the lower level.

6 Checkpoints are located on the upper level only, and three targets are located near the corners of the ramps in the center of the lower level. These targets are recessed in to the walls so that line of sight to them is onlyavailable from limited areas of the lower level.

Gates are located in the corners of the lower level.

Access ramps from the lower to upper levels are sloped at 15 degrees, and are integrated smoothly enough into the floor that they will not cause jumping, and are no hazard to use. Jump ramps are likewise no hazard to use (until you land..) Upper level jump ramps are sloped to 15 degrees, making the safe jump speed between 52.5 and 57.5 mph. Jumps from the lower level to the upper level are sloped to 30 degrees, making the safe jump speed somewhat lower than 40 mph.

All structures are solid concrete and will not collapse, with the exception of catwalks to the ramps on the upper level. These have 40DP per 1/4", with a breech creating a 1/4" hole in the floor. Mines will not damage the surface, only direct weapons fire.

The red rectangles on the map are the size of car counters, and are shown to give an idea of scale.

The Octagon at Aspen

2050 AADA World Championship
Scale: 1 box = 15'

The Octagon at Aspen is located near the ruins of Apsen, Colorado. The arena's history is as rich as that of the rest of the area, but for now I'll skip over much of that. Suffice to say that two heavily armored and escorted caravans make the trip to Aspen daily bringing supplies and spectators. The convoys usually have heavy air support as well.

Barriers and walls at Aspen are solid concrete and indestructible, though 25DP of damage will produce debris. Needless damage to the arena is discouraged, and may be fined.

The white lines painted on the arena floor are no hazard. They are used for scoring purposes in some events, but will be ignored for the World Championship qualifiers.
