Rugby:
|
This event is loosely based upon Rugby, but is perhaps a bit closer to the kid's
game Smear the Queer or Fool with the Chicken. This is a team
event, with each team consisting of two vehicles. The objective is to have
one vehicle on the team grab the flag, which is initially located in the
center of the arena, and escape out his starting gate with it. Team members
may pass the flag as they wish, and other teams will be attempting to prevent
the runner from escaping. (Or at least make him drop the flag so they can
make a grab at it and go for their own gate..)
|
Victory Conditions
The team that escapes the arena while in posession of their flag wins.
Points are available, and will be used to determine second and third place.

Special Game Play Rules:
-
The flag can be dropped either by hazard or excessive manuevering: After
a runner with the flag makes a maneuver or hazard, roll 1 die. To retain
the flag after a maneuver, roll >(D Value- 3) (i.e., A d4 Maneuver can
be dropped on a 1.) after a hazards roll > D Value.
-
The flag can be shot off the carrying vehicle. Target at a -3.(Same as
tires).
-
If the flag is jarred loose by fumble, the flag will scatter along a path
determined by the grenade scatter table. Scatter distance is 1/4
car length *(Speed/10) + d6*1/4 car length. There's some algebra.
-
If the flag is shot off, then it will scatter out along line of fire dmg/3
car lengths, round down.
-
The flag may be dropped voluntarily (to let the team mate grab it, for
instance.) Dropping the flag voluntarily is a firing action. In this case
the flag will not scatter, but instead will be placed as if it were a dropped
weapon mounted on the right, left, or back. Which side to use is the dropping
players choice. Note that this will allow a player to "bounce" the flag,
immediately picking it back up, by dropping it to one side and imediately
drifting over it to grab it again.
-
Teams will come out staggered, 2 phase delay. (Second team mate starts at
starting position on phase 3). Gates selected by random draw.
