1999 Archive Entries

12/24/99:Well, I got slow again. Sorry it's been a while since I updated. My excuse for being so slow with updating my page has to be work. I have worked a ton of overtime this month. Besides that, there is the whole waiting until the last week before Christmas to do all of the shopping, including for a few people back home in Newfoundland. Somehow, everything is done and now we are ready to enjoy our long weekend.

Merry Christmas everyone. John and I hope that you and your families and friends have a wonderful holiday season and the best in the new millennium. May your holiday be filled with warm homemade pretzels. In keeping with the holidays, I have put up new pictures on my page. Check it out.

See you all soon.

11/22/99: Happy Anniversary John! Today is our second wedding anniversary. These two years have been most wonderful. You have made me so happy. It's so wonderful to spend every day with my best friend. I love you sweetie.

As John pointed out on his page, it was a year ago, for our anniversary, that we got the scanner. We have not been putting up pictures of us, at least not until I met Sandra Brown a couple of weeks ago. So now we have decided to add some more personal photos to the pictures page.

Besides being mushy, John and I visited a local comedy club this past weekend. We had some fun and even participated a little. We had a visit last weekend from John's good friend, Chris. Chris visited from Fredericksburg, Virginia. And now we are looking forward to an extra long Thanksgiving weekend. We already have the turkey breast and we are going to try new recipies this year, to keep the fare light and healthy.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all and see you soon....Sandra.

11/10/99: Busy week for news, you may think. I just wanted to share some of my pictures with you again.  I have decided that instead of putting up a page that will take forever to load because there are so many pictures, I will instead change pictures every once in a while. Guess what, there are fresh pictures :)

The first of the two pictures is of the two Sandras. Yes folks, I have finally broken down and put up a picture of me. But it is a special photo because it is the one that was taken last Saturday with one of my favorite writers, Sandra Brown.

The second photo was the photo of the day just yesterday on Newfoundland Interactive. They keep archives so if you don't get a chance to visit their site every day, you won't miss the pictures.

So keep checking back for more pictures. John and I are doing well and keeping healthy and happy. Take care y'all...Sandra.

11/8/99: Welcome back everyone. Have you had a chance to try the Newfie Sayings Word Search Puzzle yet? Did any of you here in Austin have the chance to visit the Texas Book Festival this weekend? It was incredible. All of those Authors, Editors, Bookstore people, not to mention all the BOOKS! One of Texas own Authors was there, Sandra Brown. I went to hear Sandra speak and got a book signed. She is such a wonderful lady. It was a very memorable experience, especially when she asked if the camera was to get a picture of both of us together. I was amazed. First of all, once I spoke to her, I forgot I had a camera. Secondly, because there was a huge line behind me so she was opening up the opportunity for many more pictures. Thank you Sandra! If you have never read any of the 60 Sandra Brown novels, check them out. They are great!

John and I spent a nice weekend together, looking at books, window shopping and looking at more books:) We also visited Half Price Books. He also kept me company while I put in some overtime. He is so sweet:)

Take care and hope to see you back soon...Sandra!

10/30/99: Happy Halloween! I have been doing new things on here so keep checking back. John has also been helping with the new stuff. In fact, he made a whole word search puzzle from my Newfie Sayings page so have a look and try the puzzle, it even has a plain text version. Let us know what you think. Another new part of my page is the Newfoundland Place Names page!

In other news, John and I have finished three classes of diabetes training.  He is doing very well with keeping healthy since being diagnosed. We have both been eating healthy and it shows (at least 20 lbs gone each)! Don't forget that any recipies or suggestions are always welcome.

I look forward to hearing what any of you think of the new look. I have had some positive feedback so far. Don't forget to sign the guestbook so I can have a look at your page too. Until the next time...Sandra!

10/15/99: This page for one! Welcome back to any of you who have been looking for my geocities page. Sorry for the delay in getting the page back up. Also, welcome to any new visitors to my page. I hope you find something you like.

Why the long hiatus? There are two reasons for that. The first being that I wanted to do something different. The second being that when I tried something different, I flubbed it so bad that I took it down and started rebuilding from scratch. With the help of John, I have moved a new server and re-vamped. I hope you like the new look. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments
