Great Beer

Homebrew Equipment

OK, so I don't have the fanciest high-tech equipment setup. Of course it doesn't mean that my beer is not good, but interestingly it also doesn't mean that I have to work harder to make my beer. I've seen some other homebrewers with their 3-tier 10-gallon keg conversion RIMS systems with electronically-controlled temperature and time. There certainly is a gain in efficiency in certain procedures over my Gott cooler mash tun and propane cooker -- sparging in particular. But when all is said and done these systems still require the same cleaning and sanitation before and after the brew session, in addition to maintenance of the electronics and extra burners. The old saying, "the more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up" applies well here.
