Call for Poster Sessions
Call for Poster Sessions
Poster session are informal presentations made during the 30 to 45 minute
coffee break intervals at TAM Annual Meetings. Poster sessions are an
excellent way to explain and visually showcase a single program or activity
and stimulate informal discussion between presenters and audience members.
Deadline for Poster Sessions proposals for the 2009 TAM Annual Meeting
will be November 14, 2008.
Poster Session Guidelines
Poster presentations should be understandable to a broad range of museum
professionals. Presenters must follow guidelines for size, format, and
scheduling. There are no “walk-in” poster presentations. Poster
presentations cannot advertise goods or services.
All poster session presentations are to be produced with clarity using
good museum design and layout for photographs, graphics, and text. Your
name and affiliation must be included. The work must be original by the
author(s).
A display area for poster presentations will be provided. There will be
a scheduled time for the presenters to stand with their posters to explain
their work to conference attendees. All presenters are expected to attend.
Handouts that summarize the poster content should be available. Handouts
should be mounted on the panel in an appropriate holder.
Poster Sessions may be presented in the following formats:
PowerPoint Presentations PowerPoint
presentations are limited to ten (10) minutes. Presenters are responsible
for providing their own LCD projector and laptop computer for their presentation.
Display Panel Presentations

surface not to exceed 4' x 4'. The panels are to be mounted using double-stick
tape, Velcro, or push pins.

by January 12, 2009.
