IMLS ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF STUDY ON THE INTERNET’S IMPACT ON MUSEUMS AND LIBRARIES
Institute of Museum and Library Services Director Anne-Imelda Radice released results of InterConnections: A National Study of Users and Potential Users of Online Information March 6 at the 9th annual WebWise Conference on Libraries and Museums in the Digital World in Miami.

NEW NSF PROJECT SEEKS INTERACTIVE, HIGH-END SCIENCE GAMES FOR CHILDREN-ORIENTED WEBSITE
There is a call for interactive, high-end science games for kids ages 7-11, to be used on a new web project funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). NATIONAL STANDARDS SET IN FORTHCOMING AAM PUBLICATION
For the first time, the U.S. museum profession's current operating standards are available in a single publication, National Standards and Best Practices for U.S. Museums. "National Standards and Best Practices for U.S. Museums synthesizes the experience and best thinking of leading professionals, looking both inward at how museums function and outward toward their role in society at large," writes AAM President Ford W. IRA ROLLOVER DEVELOPMENTS IN CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET PROCESS
The Senate incorporated into the FY 09 Budget Resolution the Dorgan/Snowe amendment on reinstating expired tax relief—"such as enhanced charitable giving from individual retirement accounts, including life-income gifts"—shortly before leaving on its two-week spring recess. Although the budget resolution is non-binding on future lawmaking, it sets policy priorities for the year.
