FrameMaker Practice & Quick-Refs: Autonumbering, Variables, Version Control
|
See the previous instructions on how to go about this assignment.
To get some practice creating FrameMaker autonumbering, variables, and version control, do the following:
- Variables. Create a FrameMaker document in which you establish three variables for relatively long phrases that you'd rather not have to type every time. Include instructions on how to create and use these variables.
- Version control. Create a paragraph in which version controls enable you to switch easily from one version to the other. (Remember to be careful with spacing and punctuation.) Include instructions on how to create these versions and how to switch between them.
- Autonumbering. Create a FrameMaker document in which you have 5 separate numbering streams: one each for Title, Numbered, subNumbered (which you create), Table Title, Figure Title (which you create). Use the empty-brackets approach first. Copy these paragraphs to a separate page and then use the ID-letter approach. Include instructions on how to set up these two methods of autonumbering.
- Name this document with your first name and initial and _auto1.fm (for example, davidm_auto1.fm) and send it by e-mail attachment to your instructor.
