|
See the previous instructions on how to go about this assignment.
To get some practice creating FrameMaker cross-references, do the following:
- Explain how to create a cross-reference to an area of text on another page within the same FrameMaker document, and create such a cross-reference in the same document.
- Explain how to create a cross-reference to an area of text on a specific page in a separate FrameMaker document, create that separate document, and create the cross-reference.
- Explain how to create a cross-reference to a heading (in either document) in which you include the heading in the cross-reference, and then create such a cross-reference.
- Explain how to change the format of the cross-reference: delete the quotation marks; then make it italics. (Hint: use character tags.) Create such a cross-reference in this same document.
- Explain how to create an all-purpose cross-reference format: for example, For further details, see page_number.
- Name these documents with your first name and initial and _crossref1a.fm and _crossref1b.fm (for example, davidm_crossref1.fm) and send it by e-mail attachment to your instructor.
