FrameMaker Practice & Quick-Refs:
Reference Pages

See the previous instructions on how to go about this assignment.

To get some practice creating FrameMaker reference pages, do the following:

  1. Explain what reference pages are good for and how to display them.
  2. Explain why and how to add a graphic reference frame in the reference page just below Double Line called Thick Line, label and name it. Use this frame in this same document, and explain how you did it.
  3. Explain how to use the refeerence pages to create a thick line and then how to apply it to a heading paragraph tag in the body pages. Demonstrate this in the same document.
  4. Explain how to create a new reference page and name it icons and how to add an icon graphic that appears outside the main text column of that reference page. Demonstrate this also in this same document.
  5. Reference pages have an important use in formatting tables of contents, which you may have already learned. If so, explain how you enable leader dots and tabs in TOC tag using reference pages.
  6. Name this document with your first name and initial and _refpages1.fm (for example, davidm_refpages1.fm) and send it by e-mail attachment to your instructor.
