3.6 Inquiry
The Order Request windows in Circuit Visionä contain information used in the circuit order process. There are two stages of order processing in Circuit Vision. First is the service order stage where customer and service information is collected, credit checks made and other pre-design activities occur. Second is the circuit order or design stage where each individual circuit is provisioned. Critical event tracking and workflow templates are completely integraded throughout both stages.
The Order Menu controls the creation, tracking and workflow of all circuit orders within the system. This menu provides you with options to open:
Enter initial service order requests in this window.
Searches Circuit Vision’sä database for information on existing orders.
Provides access to a specific circuit order for review or to make small modifications to a pending order. You may also search for orders using this window; however, it is recommended that you use the Order Inquiry window instead, which processes the information more efficiently.
Although this window allows creation of a new circuit order, Broadwing uses the Service Order Request window as its order entry interface.
Provides a repository for additional information about orders. Some of the fields on this window will be specific to the facility, message, serial, or telephone circuit type that you identified in the circuit order header.
Searches for an available path between two locations.
Depicts the various phases of order flow. Circuit order tracking uses the queue template indicated on the Service Order Services window (service order request) to determine the provisioning order flow for circuit activity. The template contains the total interval that will be involved with all services that are associated with the product. This window provides control for order workflow and critical dates.
Maintains a history of events that occur at the order or circuit level. It serves as an audit trail by providing read/append access only for service and circuit orders. Entries can be user or system generated.
Allows the completion of a singular or multiple queues at one time for valid queue and workgroup combinations.
Provides the ability to perform the following functions at the order or circuit level:
**NOTE:**
You must access one of the circuits on the order before accessing this window.
Procedural Overview for facility order processing.
The Service Order Request window is the order entry module in Circuit Visionä. Initial requests for service are entered here. Through this interface you are allowed to identify all of the information that is needed to process a service order. You can use the Service Order Request window and related sub-windows to enter an order that will create multiple circuits for the same or different services based on product type.
Service Order Request Window

**NOTE:**
Service orders can be created with minimal information. Your entries for service origination and termination do not have to conform to CLLI (Common Language Location Identification) codes in this window. Subsequent windows attached to the service order request further define circuit specifications and contain field requirements, which are validated against supporting system dictionaries.
Following is a list of buttons on the Service Order Request window (see Chapter 6, Menu Toolbar Buttons, Vol.I-Welcome to Circuit Vision, for a detailed description of each button):

Once scheduling is complete, changes made to an order must be performed using a supplement order activity. Changes or edits can be made to orders prior to scheduling the order for provisioning.
Whenever changes are made, a note is automatically placed in the order’s history file. The order history notes show both the old and new information for the following Service Order Request window fields:
**NOTE:**
The order type that you choose for an order has a queue template associated with it in the system's Order Type Dictionary (see Order Type Dictionary, Vol. III-Dictionary User Guide(Vol. III-Dictionary User Guide is currently not available) ). This queue template will create the Tracking window for the order level activity. From the Order Tracking window you have access to the scheduling function associated with the service order request
Entering an order using this window provides the basic information for order administration within the system. Once you have filled in the required fields and submitted the order, the window header will be populated by order information drawn from the system database.

Now that the Service Order Services window has been updated to reflect all of the correct information, you can add address information to each of these services using the Location Address window. This window is used to enter detailed information associated with the originating and terminating location (location A and location Z) of each service.
Select a service from the Service Order Services window by first clicking on the listed service that needs address information added.
Service Order Services Window

You will notice that when selecting either the first listing for the ‘M’-message
circuit type or the second listing for the ‘S’-serial circuit type that
different associated window link buttons
become
activated. This is because there are different windows associated with these
circuit types. The ‘M’-message circuit type has the Location, Service
Specifications (Svc Specs), Toll Free, and Trunk Group ID (TGID)
Information windows associated with it. The ‘F’-facility circuit
type has only the Location window associated with it. The
‘S’-serial circuit type has the Location and Svc Specs
window associated with it.
Each of these associated windows allows you to further define the circuit specifications on the Service Order Service window, for the service ordered.
