Austin has been the subject of countless picture postcards in the last 100 years, from the sublime to the ridiculous. Here are a few favorites from my collection. These postcard views range from the 1890s to the 1950s. The color postcards were mostly tinted by hand, so if the coloring looks unrealistic, blame the postcard company!
