IO.Singapore has received a bizSAFE level 3 certification from the Workplace Safety and Health Council in Singapore. The certification demonstrates IO’s commitment to creating a safer and healthier working environment for our employees.
At IO, one of our core values is “We operate responsibly and sustainably.” My colleagues and I have written a lot on this blog about sustainability at IO with regard to the efficient use of energy and water, in particular. But responsibility and sustainability also applies internally. Part of our core value is responsible and sustainable internal operations, from the perspective of our employees.
IO.Singapore was recently recognized for that value, receiving a bizSAFE level 3 certification from the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council in Singapore. The WSH Council “works closely with the Ministry of Manpower and other government agencies, the industry, unions, and professional associations to develop strategies to raise WSH standards in Singapore and realise the national WSH 2018 vision.”
Aaron Rasmussen, Director of DCaaS Operations at IO.Singapore, explained “We achieved the bizSAFE level 3 certification because we have a plan in place and actively practice (and update) protective measures to keep workers’ health at the forefront.”
The certification doesn’t represent any change in how we do business at IO, Rasmussen added, but rather it is recognition of how we do business. For many customers, the stamp of approval is important. “Our customers will ask about our bizSAFE certification as many companies require their vendors to have the certification. They want to know that we’ve taken proper steps to keep our workers safe.”
