IO, a global leader in software-defined data centers, today announced the promotion of Kevin Malik to Chief Innovation Officer (CINO), reporting to George Slessman, IO Chief Executive Officer and Product Architect. In this role, Mr. Malik will focus on continually advancing IO technology and strengthening an internal culture that inspires relentless creativity from top global talent.
Whether it’s building a team to create the world’s first complete data center operating system or partnering with McLaren Applied Technologies to develop the next generation of energy efficient data centers, a hallmark of Malik’s work at IO has been discovering and developing innovative technologies. Mr. Malik’s new role will benefit customers by allowing him to apply his unconstrained creative thinking more broadly to enterprise-wide innovation.

As CINO, Malik will also lead the company’s Cloud Engineering and Software Engineering teams. Prior to this promotion, Mr. Malik was CIO of IO and General Manager at IO Labs. He previously served as Vice President, Global Enterprise IT for Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
