gather for a panel to share insights on sustainable power connectivity ~
Phoenix, Ariz – September 12, 2016 – IO, a leading global provider of data center services, today announced the sustainability and energy panel for “The IO Conversation: The Data Center as a Platform” conference. The session, Renewable Power Strategies – The Next Clean Generation of Data Centers, will explore how organizations can devise renewable power strategies to meet both near- and long-term energy objectives.
“The cleanest energy is the unit of energy a data center does not need to use,” said Susanna Kass, Executive Vice President and Head of Innovation and Sustainability Strategy, at BASELAYER Inc., panel moderator. “Companies who are future proofing its own destiny with the community it serves, are committed to the reduction of energy waste and sustainable power connectivity. Renewable power procurement is primarily led by data center buyers. Since its inception in 2005 when 100MegaWatt (MW) was contracted, its grown to 3.6 GigaWatt in 2015 and will reach 60 GigaWatt by 2025. This result will positively impact both the environment and companies’ bottom line.”
Renewable Power Strategies – The Next Clean Generation of Data Centers is one of four conversations focusing on the state of today’s technologies and connected applications and how data centers will need to evolve in order to foster long-term business growth. Other panels include: Strategic Colocation and What That Means, The APAC Data Center of Today and Tomorrow, and The Role of the Data Center in the Internet of Everything.
“The IO Conversation – The Data Center as a Platform” conference is taking place on September 13, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, Calif. The event will include networking opportunities and a cocktail reception.
